The Gulf states of the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain have signed an agreement on diplomatic relations with Israel.
The signing ceremony took place at the White House, which was attended by President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Emirati Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Bahraini Foreign Minister Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa.
Addressing the media before the signing of the agreement, the US president said that many more countries are ready to establish relations with Israel and that soon 5 countries will establish relations with Israel.
He said that Middle Eastern countries were fed up with the conflict situation, adding that after the agreement, citizens of the UAE and Bahrain would be able to pray in the Al-Aqsa mosque.
The agreement was subsequently signed by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu in the presence of the US President, while Bahrain and the UAE Foreign Ministers signed the agreement. US President Donald Trump also signed the agreement as a witness.
Since the agreement, the number of Arab states that recognize Israel has risen to four, followed by Egypt in 1979 and Jordan in 1994.
It should be remembered that the United Arab Emirates announced a peace agreement with Israel on August 13 and Bahrain on September 11.
