A US court has prohibited the government from banning the Chinese app VChat.

According to the British Broadcasting Corporation, a US citizen who used VChat had challenged the Trump administration's ban in court.

According to British media, the Trump administration has declared VChat a threat to national security, after which the US Department of Commerce announced on Sunday a ban on the Chinese app and it will be closed immediately.

In his ruling, the US magistrate said that the ban on the Chinese messaging and payment app VChat raises serious questions about the US government's First Amendment on freedom of expression.

The U.S. Department of Commerce has argued in court that blocking the president's executive order would not only frustrate the president's administration, but would also undermine the president's commitment to better resolve national security issues. I will do

The US government claims that the Chinese app VChat can provide data on US citizens to the Chinese government.

The U.S. Commerce Department said in a statement that the decision to block the app was made due to China's collection of data on U.S. citizens.

On the other hand, WeChat and the Chinese government have vehemently denied the Trump administration's claim, calling the US government's decision unfortunate.

It should be noted that the Trump administration has also banned the Chinese lip sync app Tik Tak, but Tik Tak has also challenged the US president's decision in court.
