LAHORE: The main defendant, Abid, and Shafqat's third alleged accomplice were also arrested in the highway abuse case.
According to the police, Bala Mastri has been detained in an operation in Chichawatni.
Police said Bala Mistry has also been involved in several incidents with the main defendant Abid. Defendants Shafqat, Abid and Bala Mistry committed some 11 incidents together.
According to the police, the defendant Bala Mastri said that they used to loot near the village of Karol together with Abid and Shafqat, where they used to stop the vehicles by placing tree trunks on the road and attacking the citizens inside them.
According to the police, the defendant further said that he, too, had left the highway with the intention of the incident with Abid and Shafqat, but had backed up halfway.
On the other hand, the police are conducting raids to arrest Abid, the main defendant in the highway abuse case, which has so far been unsuccessful.
When did the incident occur on the highway?
On September 9, a woman was gang-raped on a highway in the Gujjarpura area of Lahore.
The two men smashed the windshield of a car parked on the highway, removed the woman and her children, cut a net around the highway and took them into nearby bushes, and then raped the woman in front of the children.

According to the FIR, the Gujranwala woman was returning to Gujranwala from Lahore with her two children in her car at around 1.30pm when her car ran out of gas on Ring Road near Gujjarpura.
The woman was waiting for her husband by stopping the car on the highway for running out of gas. The first woman called one of her relatives. The relative asked to call the highway police.
When the vehicle was stopped, the woman also called the highway police, but the highway police reportedly said there was no one on emergency duty.
According to sources, the woman received a reply on the highway helpline that no one had received the Gujratpura bat yet.
According to the FIR, two armed men came from the forest adjacent to the highway and broke the car window and took the woman and her children to a nearby forest where the robbers raped the woman in front of the children. They stole gold jewelry and cash and fled.
The woman has been admitted to the hospital after her condition worsened. The report of the woman's medical examination was sent to the coroner while the police registered a case concerning the woman's relative's complaint.
According to the police, the medical examination of the victim showed that she had been abused.
