The Sindh High Court (SHC) ordered the name of Sadaf Sharjeel, Sharjeel Memon's wife, to be removed from the ECL in a case involving the creation of assets in excess of income and allowed her to leave the country.
Sharjeel Memon's wife, Sadaf, had filed a petition in the Sindh High Court to request the removal of her name from the ECL.
The petition states that she does business in Dubai and has to travel abroad from time to time for business.
Sadaf Sharjeel also said that she was living in Dubai before obtaining bail, so the Home Office should be ordered to remove her name from the ECL.
During the hearing, the NAB prosecutor opposed the removal of Sharjeel Memon's wife's name from the ECL.
Judge KK Agha noted that Sadaf Sharjeel is not the main defendant in the reference, so far the defendants have not been prosecuted in the reference.
The court ordered Sadaf Sharjeel's removal from the ECL and allowed him to leave the country from September 22 to October 2.
It should be recalled that the Sindh High Court had ordered the inclusion of Sharjeel Memon and his family in the ECL on the charge of making assets in excess of income.
